Description:

**First Time At Auction**

South Asia, India, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A gorgeous iron statue of a seated deity upon an integral pedestal. She sits with her legs crossed, and a serene expression is cast upon her face. Her six arms form different gestures, including an open upward facing palm, symbolic of "beyond misery". She wears an elaborate headdress and extensive jewelry is worn around her arms, neck, and ears. This may be Vasudhara, the bodhisattva of abundance and prosperity. A beautiful patina envelops the surface, and this piece may have been part of a home shrine or temple. Size: 6" L x 4" W x 9.5" H (15.2 cm x 10.2 cm x 24.1 cm)
