A delightful silver ring or coin purse of rectangular form adorned with an embossed crocodile skin design and featuring a petite chain with a central ring. The case is stamped with an M for the year 1886, a lion passant guardant for silver quality, a sovereign head certifying the payment of the duty, an anchor for the city of Birmingham, and "L.E." for the silversmith Lawrence Emanuel. Size of chain: 4" L (10.2 cm); of purse: 2" L x 1.5" W (5.1 cm x 3.8 cm); silver quality: 93%; weight: 29.5 grams
