Issued by Franz Hanfstaengl. Korugle Painting Gallery in Dresden." With an embossed stamp below. Paulus Potter was a 17th century artist who specialized in depicting animals in picturesque landscapes like this example. Although he passed away at the early age of 28, Potter created just about 100 paintings. This composition features a farmer walking with a herd of cattle in a pastoral setting of rolling hills with quaint cottages in the middle distance and a horse-drawn carriage of folks further in the distance.
