Description:

Central Asia, Nepal or Tibet, ca. 16th to 17th century CE. A finely cast bronze head from a miniature Buddha or bodhisattva statue, featuring tranquil, downcast eyes and elongated ears - symbolizing both the stretched lobes from once wearing heavy earrings and the capacity to hear the suffering of all beings. Between the brows is a slightly raised third eye, gilt with gold. The hair is arranged in an ushnisha topknot, with each curl rendered as a tiny, pointed spike. Size: 1.2" W x 2" H (3 cm x 5.1 cm); 5" H (12.7 cm) on included custom stand; gold quality 35%
