Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankhalok (Sawankalok) culture, Sukhothai Period, ca. 15th century CE. An elegant pottery vessel presenting a piriform silhouette with a voluminous body, a sloped shoulder that dramatically tapers to an elongated neck, and a flared rim, all sitting upon a tiered, ring-form foot. Boasting lustrous glaze of forest green decoration on an olive-hued ground, the exterior is elaborately hand-painted with several horizontal registers of abstract and striated designs. Size: 4.4" Diameter x 8.9" H (11.2 cm x 22.6 cm)
