**First Time At Auction**

Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankhalok (Sawankalok) culture, Sukhothai Period, ca. 15th century CE. A pottery jar with feathery chrysanthemum scrolls painted across its exterior. The vessel features a piriform body set atop a flat discoidal foot and has dramatically tapered shoulders and a slender, conical neck. Its petite, circular mouth is surrounded with a slightly flared rim. The painted program displays five contiguous horizontal planes, each with a unique repeating pattern, separated vertically by double-lined borders. A fine vessel with ample character! Size: 4.6" W x 7.9" H (11.7 cm x 20.1 cm)

  • Condition: Mineral deposits scattered across surface, with fading to painted decoration. Old inventory label on bottom of base. Otherwise in good overall condition. Nice lustrous sheen to glaze.
