Near East, Persia, ca. 15th to 17th century CE. A pretty decorative tile made of cast lead with a motif of two peacocks gazing at one another on a background of dense foliage. The peacock as an artistic/iconographic motif originated in India, where it was linked with the sun, beauty, glory, immortality, and wisdom; this iconography spread to Babylonia, Persia, and Asia Minor. Comes with custom stand. Size: 3.5" W x 3.5" H (8.9 cm x 8.9 cm); height on stand: 4.7" (11.9 cm)
