Description:

East Asia, China, Song Dynasty, ca. 960 to 1279 CE. An elegant, Yue ware pottery jar boasting a narrow base with flaring walls that expand to a broad, rounded shoulder, an attenuated neck, and a raised rim. A pair of petite, bifurcated, loop handles flank the neck, while an applied, horizontal band of pinched clay adorns the edge of the shoulder. A lustrous vase covers the vessel's surface, once boasting a verdant hue of celadon that has now faded to a tone of creamy beige over the centuries. Size: 9.1" Diameter x 11.8" H (23.1 cm x 30 cm)
