Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Oaxaca, Zapotec (Monte Alban I), Late Preclassic, ca. 500 to 200 BCE. A lovely pair of intriguing ceramic visages. The larger piece dons a head covering with a serpentine band adorned with a decorative zigzag motif. The face is comprised of large coffee bean eyes, prominent nose, and full lips.
