Description:

Western Europe, France, World War I era, ca. 1914 to 1918. A military brass cannon shell casing turned into a fine example of trench art. The shell is 75 mm and marked 75 Dec. Relief foliage flows around the upper portion of the shell, while the lower portion has been carefully corseted to create a ribbed surface. A wonderful piece perhaps created by a front-line soldier, prisoner of war, or civilian refugee. Size: 3.05" W x 13.5" H (7.7 cm x 34.3 cm)
