North America, United States, 1912. A World War I era flag featuring "WITH MALICE TOWARDS NONE, WITH CHARITY FOR ALL" - the famous words stated by Abraham Lincoln to close his second inaugural address on March 4, 1865, only 41 days prior to his assassination - in bold yellow letters outlined in black. These words surrounding a white dove holding an olive branch to symbolize peace over two symmetrically placed American Flags. The flags both have 48 stars arranged in 6 rows of 8 stars each; this dates them to 1912 when 2 stars representing New Mexico and Arizona were added to the American flag. A wonderful piece of WWI era historical memorabilia. Size: 21" W x 20.75" H (53.3 cm x 52.7 cm)
