Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Jamacoaque culture, ca. 500 CE. A wonderful vessel in the form of a parrot-like bird with a hooked beak, bulging eyes, and a large, elaborate headdress. The vessel is shaped like the body of the bird, with a long tail and short feathers protruding from the opposite end as the head. A charmingly detailed piece! Size: 6.8" L x 4.25" W x 3.5" H (17.3 cm x 10.8 cm x 8.9 cm)
