Northern Europe, Viking, ca. 9th to 11th century CE. A striking 94% silver ring made from a band of silver that broadens to a wide face, and is elaborately ornamented with punched decoration featuring rows of repeating triangles in an hourglass form, all containing granulations and covering the exterior of the piece. This design type is ubiquitous on Viking silver. The ends are elegantly joined via their coiled wires. Size: 0.9" in diameter (2.3 cm); total weight: 4.8 grams; US ring size: 7
