Description:

Ancient Near East, Sumer, ca. 3rd to 2nd millennium BCE. A fine necklace composed of 10 vermilion-hued jasper beads, 16 discoid faience beads of a periwinkle color, and dozens of cylindrical faience seed beads in blue and white colors. The central pendant is composed of a rectangular jasper fragment, and the surrounding beads are arranged symmetrically along the outer strand. Capped with a modern gold-filled loop and T-bar combo, this is a wearable and stylish example - ancient artistry meets modern fashion!
