Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A matching pair of gorgeous 84% gold and garnet earrings both presenting an elaborate design. From the top is a wire hoop with the terminal tip wrapped around the original loop catch, and a circular bezel contains a crimson garnet stone. Suspended from the hoop is twisted gold wire finding with petaloid shaped filigree that tops the spherical garnet stone. From below the garnet is a cap comprised of filigree petaloid shapes and a tip formed by four granulated balls. Modern 14K gold plated silver ear hooks makes these earrings wearable. These earrings are elegant and timeless, ready to dress up any outfit; a fabulous example of ancient luxury art that will never go out of style!
