Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A pretty necklace made from over 100 ancient glass, faience, and stone beads. The strand is strung with small beads that are rounded, discoid, and barrel shaped. The beads present in a nice variety of hues: pale green, white, red, and blue. Interspersed at even intervals are larger blue and green glass beads. At the center are two carnelian tubular beads and a dark brown pendant bead with a spherical shape and an integral loop. These ancient beads were strung in modern times with two modern gold-plated spacer beads terminating at a lobster clasp. This charming necklace is wearable and will brighten up any outfit with its subtle pops of color! Size of strand: 22.5" L (57.2 cm); pendant bead: .5" W (1.3 cm)
