Ancient Eastern Mediterranean, Phoenicia, ca. 4th to 1st century BCE. An elegant pair of earrings, each comprised of two ancient glass beads and modern metal components. A horned eye bead dangles from the end of each earring, and each bead if comprised of 8 nodules that protrude from the black body. Each nodule is formed with stratified layers of white, black, and light blue hues that look like eyes. The horned beads rest on a modern chain finding and attach to an ancient barrel bead with golden iridescence. These earrings are wearable with modern gold-plated ear wires and gold-plated findings. Size earring: 2.43" L (6.2 cm); mosaic bead: .43" Diameter (1.1 cm)
