Description:

North Africa, Carthage, ca. 4th to 2nd century BCE. A beautiful necklace comprised of over 50 ancient glass beads. The beads are symmetrically strung on a modern wire with alternating eye beads and golden beads, as well as a large spherical eye pendant bead at the center. Half of the beads are 'eye' or 'evil eye' beads, presenting in hues of cobalt blue and white. The smaller spherical beads are formed with semi-translucent glass with golden flecks within, which create a nice shimmer to this piece of wearable art. Fitted with a modern gold-plated lobster clasp, these beads will certainly gather admiring glances while warding off evil ones! Size of strand: 17.5" L (44.4 cm); size of central pendant bead: 1" W (2.5 cm)
