Description:

Pre-Columbian, Southern Peru, Wari / Huari culture, ca. 600 to 800 CE. A very unusual and striking pottery vessel molded with four faces, but using only 4 eyes. The faces alternate between menacing and benign. A decorated cap adorns the head and added white pigment enhances mouth, eyes and cap. Incorporated into the top is a slender spout and a whistle in the form of a bird. Whistle functions quite well! Size: 7-1/4"H (18.4 cm).
