Description:

Native American, Southwestern United States, Navajo tribe, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A lovely 94% silver necklace comprised of ten strands strung with hundreds of delicate 'liquid silver' beads and over two dozen small red coral seed beads interspersed along the strands. The ends are capped by silver conical terminals with a hook clasp. This is called "liquid silver" because the tiny silver beads are supple and velvety in texture when strung together. They are sometimes called "silver heishi" because heishi refers to the traditional tube or disc beads from the American Southwest. Absolutely wearable, easily paired with casual or formal wear, and the red beads add a nice pop of color to contrast with the silver! Size: 25.5" L (64.8 cm); quality of silver: 94%; total weight: 42.1 grams
