North America, Hawaiian Islands, ca. mid 20th century CE. A beautiful bowl - hand carved from koa wood that presents attractive graining and warm amber and sienna hues. A wonderful deep bowl sitting upon its rounded base, finely carved from wood of the flowering Acacia Koa tree. Interestingly, in the Hawaiian language, the word koa means fearless warrior. Size: 9.8" W x 5.75" H (24.9 cm x 14.6 cm)
