Description:

Northern Europe, Viking or Norse culture, ca. 8th to 11th century CE. A beautiful and wearable necklace composed of 17 glass beads of faceted, spherical, and oblong forms. The central bead is a millefiori-style creation - with canes of white, red, blue, and yellow glass interspersed throughout the black ground - and the 16 remaining beads are arranged symmetrically on either side in hues of topaz, citrine, jet, olive, vermilion, and pearl. The modern leather necklace cord is capped with a sterling silver loop and lobster clasp combo which make this a wonderful example of ancient jewelry meets modern fashion! Size (necklace): 19" L (48.3 cm); size (largest bead): 0.7" W (1.8 cm).
