Viggo Peter Olaf Langer (German / Danish, 1860-1942). "Russet Reeds" oil on canvas, n.d. A beautiful painting by Viggo Langer depicting a dirt road and farm house in the Danish countryside as tall reeds and leafy trees sway in the strong wind. Viggo Langer is known for his beautifully executed Impressionistic landscapes and atmospheric paintings not only influenced by early Impressionist artists, but golden age artists like Vilhelm Kyhn and J. T. Lyndbye. A master of light and color (specifically sunlit forest scenes), Langer is famous for his scenic depictions of Denmark's capital island of Sjaelland. He trained in Copenhagen at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and later with Carl Bloch (1884-85).His works are often characterized by a sense of uplifting freedom, space, and warm Summer conditions. Our shippers of choice are DHL for International shipments and UPS for domestic shipments, but we are able to ship via other carriers at the buyer's expense as deemed necessary or by request.

For shipments of oversize items, Artemis Gallery will assist the buyer in working with a third-party shipping provider. For shipments outside of the USA, customs and duties may apply upon entry into said country, and this fee, if any, is the buyer's responsibility.
