Western Europe or United States, Victorian era, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A lovely cameo pendant carved and heavily undercut from a red carnelian stone and set in a 68.6% gold (equivalent to 16K+) pendant setting. The mottled stone depicted a young Classical woman facing right, her hair cascading to her shoulders. The pendant is strung on a modern cord as a wearable necklace. Size of pendant: 1.3" L x 0.8" W (3.3 cm x 2 cm); cord: 21" L (53.3 cm); gold quality: 68.6% (equivalent to 16K+); weight: 6.9 grams
