Spanish Colonial, Mexico or Central America, 19th century CE. Rare and quite exceptional religious scene placed inside a rounded wooden "temple" that closes into a sort of "pod." Central figure of Mary of Magdalene flanked on one side by Saint Anthony and the other by an unknown female Saint. Each figure is well carved and painted in heavy lead-based paints now with lovely aged patinas. A very rare depiction! Size: 10.25" W x 12" H (26 cm x 30.5 cm)
