Description:

Ancient Greece, Late Classical to early Hellenistic Period, ca. 4th to 3rd century BCE. An incredibly rare finger ring with a hoop shank and an ovoid bezel carved from a singular piece of soft yellow, nearly colorless glass. The raised rim around the bezel was intended to better retain a carved glass cabochon which would have nicely complemented the color of the setting. A similar example in the Metropolitan Museum of art still has its glass cabochon, however the example we are offering is more intact than theirs, making it even more desirable! Size: 1.53" L x 1.21" W x 1.06" H (3.9 cm x 3.1 cm x 2.7 cm); US ring size: 5
