Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Veracruz culture, ca. 6th to 8th century CE. A trio of pottery pieces from the Veracruz culture, hand-molded, including a bird head, a human head, and a figure with human body and zoomorphic face, probably a transformative shaman figure. The bird and figure are decorated with some of the distinctive petroleum-based black paint that is characteristic of Veracruz artwork. All three come together mounted on custom stand. Size mounted: 3" L x 5.9" W x 5.05" H (7.6 cm x 15 cm x 12.8 cm)
