Description:

Pre-Columbian, Veracruz, East Mexico, El Faisan type, Classic period, ca 300 to 600 CE. Hand modeled, polychrome whistle in the form of a female figure carrying her prized coatimundi. Buff earthenware with red paint and black chapapote pigment. Note that this is an exquisite Veracruz standing whistle figure. It is in wonderful condition, and shows a most unusual, singular theme - a coatimundi stretched across the entire upper torso of its female owner. Very special, high quality example! 5"H x 4"W.
