Native American, Southwestern United States, New Mexico, Zia Pueblo, ca. late 20th to early 21st century CE. Larger signed "J.S." for Juanita Shije (Zia Pueblo, b. 1940). A set of 2 hand-built pottery jars of attractive form, the larger definitively constructed by Juanita Shije, and the more petite vessel is unsigned although quite similar in style to that of Juanita Shije. Each vessel features a series of stylized avian creatures among fields of black spirals and geometric forms. Size of largest: 8.34" W x 6.1" H (21.2 cm x 15.5 cm)
