Western Europe, Italy, ca. late 20th century CE. A pair of vinyl tote bags by luxury designer Gucci, featuring the iconic monogram logo pattern. The smaller tote has dark navy blue leather trim with gold-toned hardware, and inside, a leather tag is stamped in gold with "Gucci Accessory Collection." The verso of the tag is stamped "39.02.061," and the original paper tag for the Accessory Collection, with numbers "40410 265160," is intact - notable, as these tags often detach over time. The larger bag also features navy leather trim and eye-catching web strap handles with red and blue web trim. Inside, a leather tag is stamped with the number "45." The Gucci Accessory Collection was produced by Gucci's perfumery department from the late 1970s to the early 1990s, offering a range of accessories and lifestyle items at a lower price point through third parties like airports and department stores, making Gucci more accessible to a broader audience.
