Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 3rd to 4th century CE. A lovely pair of hand-built miniature glass bracelets of circular forms that were perhaps meant for a child based on their diminutive size. The first bracelet is formed from deep yellow-hued glass, and the second is made from nearly opaque glass of a fine amber color. Applied around the exterior of each accessory are globules of opaque green-yellow glass that nicely contrast against both bracelet colors. Size of largest (amber hue): 1.75" W (4.4 cm); (wrist opening): 1.5" W (3.8 cm)

Provenance: ex-Phoenicia Holyland Antiquities, New York, New York, USA, acquired February 10, 1998; ex-Kamyas Gallery
