Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A set of 2 cast-bronze spear tips of sizable form, one covered in green patina and the other in brown patina. The bifacial spear tip features a thick midrib and a flared handle above the tang. The larger spear tip bears 4 blade edges, a thick handle, and a curved tang tip. Ancient spear tips like these were mounted to the ends of long wooden poles for use as formidable weapons. Size of largest: 17.375" L x 1.40" W x 1.38" H (44.1 cm x 3.6 cm x 3.5 cm)
