Near East, Persia (Iran and Turkey), Nishapur or Kashan, Medieval Period, ca. 10th to 12th century CE. A set of 2 bowls - 1 with a smooth basin surface and the other with a petal-patterned basin surface and a peacock in the center - that are each covered in thick layers of turquoise-hued glaze save for the undersides and feet. Size (patterned basin): 3.7" L x 3.625" W x 1.7" H (9.4 cm x 9.2 cm x 4.3 cm); (smooth basin): 3" L x 2.9" W x 1.4" H (7.6 cm x 7.4 cm x 3.6 cm)
