Description:

Native American, Southwestern United States, New Mexico, Hopi and Acoma, ca. mid-20th century CE. A set of 3 hand-built pottery vessels including a Hopi jar and bowl as well as an Acoma ashtray. The bowl displays feathers and stepped in black pigment while the jar shows abstract linear motifs, perhaps avian, in black and red pigment. The larger Acoma ash tray bears a two-headed bird within the basin, a pair of twisted handles, and a pair of cupped cigar/cigarette holders painted in orange. Size of largest: 5.9" L x 5.7" W x 2.3" H (15 cm x 14.5 cm x 5.8 cm)

  • Condition: Largest with repair to at least 1 handle if not both, with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines; remaining 2 vessels are intact. Each with light abrasions and fading to pigment, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to motifs throughout. Largest signed "ACOMA N.M." on base.
