Native American, Southwestern United States, Hopi, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A gathering of 2 hand-built pottery bowls, each with elaborate motifs and stone-burnished surfaces. The first bowl boasts a dark orange ground adorned with a sizable black bird, and the larger, orange-yellow vessel is decorated with abstract motifs in black and red pigment, perhaps avian in form. Size of largest (orange-yellow): 8.875" W x 2.8" H (22.5 cm x 7.1 cm); (dark orange): 7.125" W x 1.9" H (18.1 cm x 4.8 cm)
