Northern Greece, Thrace, ca. 400 to 350 BCE. Apollonia Pontika AR Diobol (2.3 g). Laureate facing head of Apollo / Upright anchor; A to left, crayfish to right. Topalov, Apollonia 56; SNG BM Black Sea 167 corr. (obv. type); SNG Copenhagen 459. and Cherronesos AR Hemidrachm (1.3 g). Forepart of lion, looking back/ quadripartite in cuse square. Size of largest: 0.45" W (1.1 cm)

Cherronesos is Greek for 'peninsula' and several cities used the name, so it is unclear who struck this coin.

Provenance: Ex-private Collection of James Farmer, Maryland, collected from major galleries and auction houses between 1995 and 2005
