Description:

Native American, Northwestern United States, Alaska, Inuit or Inupiaq, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A striking pair of walrus tusks that are hand-carved into cribbage boards, one with intricately incised aninals and the other with areas of dark brown hues. The tusks are polished to even the surfaces for use as score board faces, with two pairs of 30 perforations along the sides, and pairs of perforations on either end of the game area. Size of largest: 10" L x 1.4" W x 0.75" H (25.4 cm x 3.6 cm x 1.9 cm)

This is a pre-Act piece of walrus ivory under the MMPA and cannot be sold internationally or to anyone residing in the states of California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington. We guarantee that the piece was made prior to 1972.
