Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A group of 2 hand-built pottery figures, each adorned with beaded necklaces, incised loincloths, and minimalist countenances. The first figure exhibits a soft white pigment across the body as well as a centrally-parted coiffure while the taller, orange-hued figure dons a bifurcated headwrap around the elongated brow. Size of largest: 1" L x 4.625" W x 8.4" H (2.5 cm x 11.7 cm x 21.3 cm)

  • Condition: Taller figure with professional repair and restoration to proper left foot, both forearms, and area of head reattachment around neckline, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines; shorter figure with area of concealed infill material behind head. Each figure with softening to some finer details, fading to pigment, and light earthen deposits, otherwise in nice condition. Great figural presentation.
