Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A group of 2 hand-built pottery female figures, each sitting with delineated legs extending in front of knee-length skirts. The first figure holds one hand to a foot while balancing a petite olla on her opposite shoulder, and the larger figure rests both hands atop her bent knees while peering forward from beneath heavy-lidded eyes. Size (largest figure): 3.5" L x 3.8" W x 4" H (8.9 cm x 9.7 cm x 10.2 cm); (figure w/ olla): 2.1" L x 2.75" W x 3.625" H (5.3 cm x 7 cm x 9.2 cm)

  • Condition: Larger figure has small areas of restoration, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines; figure with olla is intact. Each figure with abrasions, scattered earthen deposits, and softening to some finer details, otherwise in nice condition. Great presentations!
