Description:

Ancient Near East, Northern Iran and Southeastern Turkey, Luristan, Iron Age, ca. 11th to 7th century BCE. A pair of bronze and copper daggers from ancient Near Eastern cultures. The slender blade is copper, with raised studs on the handle. The other blade is cast from bronze, with a pair of rams heads forming the pommel. The top of the handle has been pierced, possibly to attach a perishable material like leather around it to cushion the grip. Size of ram headed knife: 8.2" L x 1.2" W (20.8 cm x 3 cm)
