Description:

Spanish Colonial, South America, probably Peru, ca. early 19th century CE. A fine pair of petite cups formed from 70% to 80% silver with flat bases, wide rims, and intricately shaped foliate-style handles. The first cup features engraved diamond motifs within semicircular arches, and the taller cup bears similar engravings, only with wispy leaves projecting along the upper periphery. An attractive set of cups with wonderful patina. Size of largest: 2.875" W x 3.4" H (7.3 cm x 8.6 cm); quality of silver: between 70% and 80%; total weight: 205.2 grams.
