Artist: Theodor Breidwiser (Austrian, 1847-1930). Lithographers: Kunstanstalt Alb. Berger, Wien VIII and Druck v. Th. Banwarth, Wien VIII/2. Published by Carl Gerold Sohn, Vienna - ca. 1880 to 1920. Two antique chromolithograph wall plates for Anton Hartinger's "Wall Plates for the Education in Natural History" - one depicting a seal and sea lion, the other depicting a male and female deer. Carl Gerold's Sohn published Hartinger's "Wall Plates for the Education in Natural History" - a series of 124 botanical and zoological chromolithographs between 1880 and 1920. A wonderful pair of 19th century wall plates, ideal for any animal lover! Size of seal/sea lion wall plate: 33.125" L x 25.2" W (84.1 cm x 64 cm) Size of deer: 25.375" L x 33.125" W (64.5 cm x 84.1 cm)

Seal/Sea Lion has a couple of minute tears and minor crease marks to peripheries that do not impact the imagery. Seal/Sea Lion is signed in the plate.
