Tim Yanke (American, b. 1962). "Summer Along With Intentions" - 2 mixed media, 2012. A pendant pair of Tim Yanke hand-embellished giclee on canvas works, both hand-signed by the artist in ink. One identified as an artist's proof (AP 43/75) on the lower left; the other an hors de commerce proof (HC 13/75). Yanke points to the influences of Abstract Expressionists Willem de Kooning, Robert Motherwell, Wassily Kandinsky, Cy Twombly, and Jackson Pollock on his oeuvre. Yanke's technique is organic, oftentimes approaching the canvas "with an idea in mind" but only selecting colors once he has begun. He enjoys working with a variety of media, oftentimes including written words, as we see in these examples, but leaving the interpretation of these messages up to the viewer. Size of artworks: 20" L x 10" W (50.8 cm x 25.4 cm) Size of frames: 37.125" L x 18.125" W (94.3 cm x 46 cm)

Yanke earned his fine arts degree from the University of Texas in Denton. Yanke's honors include being selected as an "Artist Resident" for the Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts in Saratoga, Washington in 2012 as well as the official artist of the Amelia Island Jazz Festival in Florida in 2015. In addition, Yanke has generously donated more than twenty of his "Yankee Doodles" to Habitat for Humanity homeowners in Oakland County. Regarding Yanke's style and technique, "He has no preconception when he works and develops his imagery spontaneously. He focuses on a bright color palette to attract the viewer and impart a pleasing visual effect to his highly energetic imagery."
