Extraordinary wooden lute carved from local hardwoods with skin covered base and head in the form of a fierce dragon, floral decorations along reverse and along much of top section. Dragons have been part of Chinese culture for at least 7,000 years. In China, dragons have long symbolized power, creativity, heaven and good fortune.
