Tibet, 19th century CE. Wonderfully tactile wooden handle to a ceremonial drum. In the shape of a purba with three sided "blade" each decorated with designs in relief including dancing figure and serpentine designs. Upper section with three carved human heads, small attachment peg at top where this was attached to a round wooden drum, sometimes fitted with human skin. Custom stand. Size: 14" H (35.6 cm)
