Description:

Pre-Columbian, Peru, Inca Empire, ca. 1400 to 1533 CE. A fine trio of hand-carved stone mace heads of varying forms, each with drilled central hafting holes. First is a circular mace head carved from dark gray stone with one convex face and one relatively flat face. Second is a star-form mace head shaped from mottled brown and beige stone with six projecting nodules encircling the body. The largest mace head is of a broad, discoid form sculpted from soft sage green stone with a relatively sharp inner rim. Size of largest (discoid): 4.125" Diameter (10.5 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Drimmer collection, Florida, USA, before 1965
