Central Asia, Tibet, ca. early 19th century CE. A wonderful trio of beaded rice mandala rings with interior cloth linings and intricate patterns formed with hundreds of colorful beads. Rice mandalas are typically displayed on a plate in groups of three or four in which the largest ring is set and then filled with rice. Each smaller ring is then stacked and filled with rice, and then a silver ornament - representing a dharma wheel or palace replica - is placed on top. Size of largest: 7" Diameter (17.8 cm)
