Southwestern United States, New Mexico, Chimayo / Latin America, Mexico, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A collection of 3 wool rugs with classic Southwestern America and Northern Mexican elements. The largest is an area rug with a creamy white ground and rows of hummingbirds / thunderbird motifs. The midsized rug is an ochre yellow with stepped geometric motifs. These two rugs both have signs of heavy use. The smallest is also either a mat or tabletop decoration and in near perfect condition. Size largest rug: 72" L x 47" W (182.9 cm x 119.4 cm); yellow rug: 40" L x 20" W (101.6 cm x 50.8 cm); smallest: 29" L x 14" W (73.7 cm x 35.6 cm)

  • Condition: Large rug was glued down to a floor or wall and has stiff adhesive residue patches along the periphery on one side. Not easily removable. Front face has a few stains from adhesive and normal wear from use. Fair used condition. Yellow rug is in fair used condition, many stains throughout and likely used as a rug in a kitchen / heavy foot traffic. Small rug has a tiny pull to fibers in one area, otherwise intact, unstained, great condition
