Greece / Magna Graecia, Sicily, Syracuse & Akragas, ca. 6th to 4th century BCE. A collection of two ancient Greek AE bronze coins and one AR silver coin, three total. The largest is a Syracuse bronze AE litra, featuring the obverse with the head of Athena facing left, wearing a Corinthian helmet, and the reverse depicting a sea star between two dolphins. The silver coin is an Akragas didrachm, with an obverse showing a sea eagle standing and facing right, and a reverse displaying a crab within an incuse circle. The other bronze coin is an Akragas hemilitron, featuring the obverse with the head of a young Herakles facing right in an incuse circle, and a smooth reverse Size of AR silver didrachm: 0.73" Diameter (1.9 cm); silver quality: 97%; weight: 8.3 grams; Size of AE litra: 1.2" Diameter (3 cm); weight: 34.4 grams
