Native American, Southwestern United States, Pima, ca. late 19th to 20th century CE. A lovely trio of baskets, each handwoven from native plants including Devil's claw and exhibiting a hemispherical form with a geometric pattern adorning the exterior. The largest and most petite vessels are both enveloped in a hue of raw umber with raised horizontal bands and beige decoration: the largest with a register of steppe motif near the rim and the most petite with diagonal, zigzag designs across the body. Boasting a shade of wheat with caramel and espresso-colored adornments, the mid-size basket displays a series of triangular patterns and horizontal rings. Size (largest): 7.5" Diameter x 4.4" H (19 cm x 11.2 cm)

  • Condition: All have minor losses to rims, light stains, and some small areas of loosening. Most petite shows some fraying. Otherwise, all are excellent with nice remaining pigments and great preservation of forms.
